The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is really, really rapid
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is going to be super fast, it seems, as its alleged processor just got tested to the limits and was not found wanting.

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 is expected to be the first phone to get the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU in 2018. Qualcomm just let a bunch of journalists test that new processor with the claim that it will run 25 percent faster than last year’s Snapdragon 835 chip.
The tests took place on a chip inside a reference device at Qualcomm’s San Diego headquarters by our colleagues at TechRadar, who were able to run several independent benchmarking tests. These tests measured raw computing power and graphical performance and found, in many cases, that the processor actually exceeded that 25 percent performance enhancement.
Qualcomm claims that the new Snapdragon 845 CPU will not only enhance speeds for things like web browsing or app opening but it will also give more colours in graphical performances, enhance biometric security and even manage to extend the battery life of the device, too.
Of course all this was found from benchmarking tests using devices built for the test. In the real world that 25 percent increase of performance may not be quite so high, but it should be close.
Either way it means the Samsung Galaxy S9 should be a lightning fast smartphone and there are plenty of other cool extras, too, which you can find in our feature explaining everything to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S9.
